Gulf of Mexico Field Atlas

Browse deepwater fields top-down — Country → onshore/offshore → Region → geological play → field. Fields with a full life-cycle analysis open right here — and link through to their stage-gate hub.

The Lower Tertiary (Wilcox) play is ~8% of GoM fields but holds ~36% of the oil — start there.

Guided demo — a 4-click walkthrough

  1. Start at the default top view — USA · offshore · Gulf of Mexico, where the Lower Tertiary story leads.
  2. Open Jack/St Malo — a rich field with full life-cycle depth plus economics, underwriting and landman lenses.
  3. Browse its 24 producing wells — rig-days, first oil and cumulative production per slot.
  4. Follow one well, stage by stage — spud through produce for a single slot.

Every step is bookmarkable — copy the address bar at any point to share that exact view.

The default view shows the 120 concept-matched Gulf of Mexico fields. Selecting a country loads the global catalog — 2,149 fields across 84 countries; the GoM catalog carries 333 entries (of BSEE's full 1,390-field atlas; Lower Tertiary = 111 fields, ~36% of GoM oil). Density (per field): rich = life-cycle hub + economics · sample = concept data · roadmap = name/block only. Country badges (in the Country list) reflect national data-module depth, not per-field detail. GoM play attribution beyond the concept-matched set is pending the BSEE sands-atlas ingest (#955) — use the (unattributed) play filter to see those fields.
